12 Easy Steps to Becoming a Mirror Medium
Using a mirror for Mediumship is remarkably easy. In some cases, the name is misleading, as no actual mirror, is used, just the same scrying process. Before mirrors were invented, polished dark metal or stone was used for mirror scrying. After glass became easier to find and more reasonable in cost, what we now call scrying mirrors were created. Regardless of whether you are using an actual mirror, or a darkened piece of glass, the process is still considered Mirror Scrying.
Becoming a Mirror Medium isn’t difficult…Follow these easy steps and with some practice, you can become a Mirror Medium…
That’s all you have to do, and of course practice, practice, practice.
- First of all, buy or make a black mirror. Commercially produced mirrors can be purchased at some bookstores. If you want to make a black mirror, take a piece of glass that has ground edges. Picture frame glass usually will cut your fingers. Paint one side of the glass with high gloss back paint and you’re in business.
- Don’t eat heavy foods before a session. Lighter foods such as fruits and vegetables will help conserve energy in your body that would otherwise be used for digesting the heavier foods. Caffeine alters your vibration and dehydrates you, so it is better to eliminate it. Water easily conducted energy, so having a well-hydrated body is essential.
- Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed by people or animals and turn off your electronics, especially your cell phone.
- Take off all jewelry. That means your watch, your rings, your earrings, everything. Whether metal or stone, the jewelry can divert energy. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. If your waistband pinches, you aren’t likely to spend the necessary time to practice.
- If you are using a regular mirror, try to use a large one. Place it in front of a comfortable chair. The best mirrors to use are stand mirrors or full length mirrors hung on the wall. Trying to use a hand mirror will only make your arm tired.
- Sit in the chair. The best chair to use supports the back of your head, even when you are deeply relaxed. A recliner or wing back style chair is perfect. Do not recline in the chair. You won’t be able to see the mirror fully and you may fall asleep. If you don’t have a comfy chair that supports your head, a blow up pillow that is used for support during travel will work too.
- Set your goal and intention that these tools will ease the transition into an altered stated of consciousness and begin.
- Relax your posture. Focus on each part of your body and consciously relax it. Many people have no idea what relaxed feels like. You may need to work on your relaxing skills.
- Set the mood for Mirror Gazing by creating sacred space or participating in activities like listening to meditation music, looking through art books, touching and experiencing find fabrics like silk or brocade.
- If you have them, gather photographs and personal items of Spirits who has passed around you. Don’t forget things they used frequently, glasses, tools, even Grandma’s favorite spoon, or Granpa’s favorite hammer..
- Either darken a room or wait until twilight to conduct your session, Light a candle and place it behind you. You will probably need a table behind you to place the candle on if you don’t have a tall candle stand. You will probably have to experiment until you get the lighting just right. Later at night is fine, but it seems the twilight time is more relaxing and helps ease a Medium into an altered state. However, around midnigt is also a very good time to work. If you prefer to work outside, the deep shade of a tree is great and the tree will help provide grounding and energy.
- Now begin your sessions by soft focusing your eyes and allowing the images to dance across the mirror. Don’t judge what you are seeing, simply allow the messages to form. Afterwards, journal what you have seen. You may not understand a message today, but on Thursday, it all makes sense.
