Creating a Bachelor’s Pad
For a man, having a bachelor’s pad is the epitome of freedom. It is the place where no one can tell a man who the boss is. In creating the perfect bachelor’s pad, there are certain things to remember as explained below.
Scouting for your very own bachelor’s pad can be really exciting and in the end rewarding. When scouting, look for a safe neighborhood and places that don’t invite trouble. Upon deciding which place to stay, do not design it like a fraternity house. Though it is called a bachelor’s pad, it doesn’t have to be set-up by a college student. That means that the posters and other pin-ups should be avoided and artwork must be hung from the wall. If possible, include photos of family and friends. The place is supposed to be a welcoming area after a long day of work. The main point of design is to show status of a man, not increased testosterone levels.
Invest in furniture so that it gives the pad some sophistication. Mattresses should be thrown out and full beds should be thrown in. Get comfortable chairs and couches that guests will want to sit on. The furniture should all be useful and shouldn’t crowd the place. The bachelor pad kitchen should have complete utensils in case guests come over.
Of all the bachelor pad items, probably the most important is the entertainment system. It might be a generalization, but no bachelor pad is complete without a flat screen TV, sound system and some kind of console. This is perfect for relaxation after a long day from work or as things to do when guests are around.
After purchasing all the appliances and equipment for the bachelor pad, it is important to keep everything clean. Just as a car is the reflection of how a man takes care of a woman, the cleanliness of the place and bachelor pad items display the attitude of the owner. Avoid stacking dirty dishes and cleaning them all at once. Since it is a bachelor pad, guests will often visit.
