Club Volleyball Review For Impact Volleyball Club
Starting out in 1989, initially the Impact Volleyball Club had only three teams, but now the club has developed into one of the premier girls volleyball clubs making a solid impact in the Yorba Linda, California area with one 18s, two 17s, four 16s, three 15s, two 14s, two 13s and two 12s volleyball teams currently in the program.
In 2009 Impact Club players have appeared in the California Interscholastic Federation State playoffs (Katie Mcmahon, Katie Kirby, Amanda Brown, Hannah Nabbout) and the Finals (Amanda Brown, Katie Kirby, Hannah Nabbout, Katie McMahon) and in the NCAA playoffs (Ni Waterfield, Nicole Favreau, Lauren Gross, Amanda Pacheco, and Brittany Crenshaw).
Their most lauded achievements – next to winning championships and also awards – seem to be the scholarships their junior volleyball players have earned. Some of the institutions where Impact players have signed Letters of Intent, agreeing to represent educational institutions on the volleyball court include Duke, Notre Dame, Biola, UCSB, Gonzaga, Stanford, Yale, Cal State Fullerton, Brown University, Dartmouth, Oral Roberts, Boise State Norther Arizona, North Carolina, Southern Mississippi, University of Tulsa and Penn just to name a few.
Located at 17000 Brooklyn Avenue in Yorba Linda, California, the Impact Volleyball Club has their own gym facility equipped with three volleyball courts, an astro turf running and plyo track and rock climbing wall (and other amenities) in which players practice and train.
From July to December the club offers clinics and one-on-one skills development training for its players who are looking for more opportunities to improve their game.
The club has a long and enviable record of student-athletes they’ve sent to a variety of colleges and universities in California and throughout the nation. In 2009, 18 players include Nicole Favreau, Lauren Gross, Amanda Pacheco, Meredith Crenshaw, Brittany Crenshaw, Breanna Cygan, Katie Lockard, Jennifer Wilson, Christina Berry, Ellen Martin, Kelly Regimbal, Christine Pina, Alissa Santa-Maria, Jennifer Wilson, Morgan Hirzel and Naliah Waterfield.
Impact club philosophy centers around striving for excellence in “instruction and development of each player on an individual basis as well as within the concept of the team.” Their concept requires everyone -coaches, support staff, parents and players to work together to achieve team and club goals. As with the majority of junior volleyball clubs, parents are asked to make the time, effort and energy commitment to the club and the sense of community built for the families of area kids and players who participate at Impact seems apparent.
