Softball- A Novice Guide
Softball while being overly popular in US today, has grown in world popularity and is increasingly becoming a global sport. Learning softball is gaining a key to recreational fun and in sportsmanship. Some of the basics, the foundational concepts that can assist you gain an upper hand in the game, have been discussed hereunder.
Let’s begin with the game itself.
Softball teams have nine players. A softball playing field has a 60-inch wide infield marked by lines between the bases and an outfield (outside the baseline though inside the field). Once the ball ventures outside first or the third baseline, it is counted as a foul and the batter gets replay unless the ball had already been caught airborne (an out). An official softball game has seven innings, an inning referring to the time it takes for each team to bat.
How to play
Before you get a sure ball mastery, train yourself to always keep the eyes on a ball. Bend the knees slightly while at bat. Again, do not run backwards while tracking a ball in motion or else you will fall frequently. Run sideways while keeping the eyes on the airborne ball. Only run through the first base and no other. While catching a ball, avoid clasping the hands hard. This will bounce the ball off. Rather absorb the impact gently but fast.
The Softball Team
One-man shows never go far in softball. Champion softball team accrue from a union of all players, such that individual weaknesses are meshed over by collective abilities. When the goal is one and the individuals are lost inside that oneness, the team is unbeatable.
