Five Fact Finding Approaches You Can Use in the Pre-Shopping Research Before Buying Premium Used Cars
There are at least five fact-finding approaches you can use in the pre-shopping research you need to undertake before proceeding to buy premium used cars. Subjectivity may be tolerated in lower-value purchases, but when it comes to higher-value purchases, like those of the premium used cars in question, most people prefer to rely on objective facts.
A question is bound to come up, at this point, on how exactly one is supposed to go about this pre-shopping research, before buying a premium used car. It turns out that there is no ‘right way’ or ‘wrong way’ to go about it: provided you get the facts, and you subsequently apply them in the decision-making process. And as alluded to earlier, there are at least five fact-finding approaches that you can use in this pre-shopping research, before buying premium used cars. Those would include:
1. Visiting motoring websites: these are rich-sources of information, where you can get facts related to the premium used car brand you are considering buying. Among others, we are looking at websites affiliated to the makers of the respective car brands, forums where motorists share notes, online used car dealerships and so on. From online used car dealerships’ websites you can, for instance, get to learn what the ‘going prices’ for the various premium car brands are.
2. Reading motoring books and magazines: this is a question of, for instance, venturing into your local library, proceeding to the motoring section, and then picking books and magazines which may contain information pertinent to your shopping expedition. Even if you don’t get direct information, you will, at the very least, learn what the relevant considerations to make when shopping for premium second hand cars are.
3. Talking to other motorists: from fellow motorists, especially those who own cars of the varieties you are considering buying, you can get ‘real person reviews’ of the cars. The information you gather this way would be invaluable in your decision making process.
4. Talking informally to car vendors: this is where you approach them informally, like a person who is on a fact-finding mission (rather than a potential customer). Approach them this way, and majority will give you information which is far more objective and truthful than what they’d give you if they view you as a prospective buyer.
5. Talking to experienced mechanics: from these, you can get to learn which premium car varieties are typically troublesome, which ones are durable, which one are expensive to maintain… and so on. These bits of information would, in turn, be invaluable when it comes to making the final premium used car purchase decision.
