France is a Socialist Nation – Yet, France’s World Cup Soccer Team Plays As Individuals – Why?

In fact, they looked like a whole bunch of individuals out for their own glory, rather than working together as the great soccer team they have been at past World Cups. There performance and ball hogging style was perhaps the epitome of objectivism, not collectivism.

And if the French soccer team were to have really studied why they should work together, so that they could wind together, they would have done what was in their best individual interests and passed the ball. In any case after watching all this, it had occurred to me that philosophically there is a real problem in France. On one hand they want to tell all other nations like the United States to become socialist countries, they even demanded that we vote for Obama. And yet something is a “miss” in their own society, and it showed on the soccer field.

Are people so upset with socialism – that the strongest amongst them, the best and the brightest, their greatest soccer players, and their entire country long to be individuals – even to the point that they are willing to lose the game, just so they can stay in control of the soccer ball every time they get it? If we look at it from this perspective, we see there are real problems with socialism, that socialism takes away individuality to the point where people will do anything to get it back. They are even willing to lose just to enjoy the freedom of individualism.

It is quite amazing when you think about it, and now that socialist country is throwing rotten fruit at their soccer team after they came back losers, rather than winners at the World Cup. On one hand, everyone wants to be an individual, on the other hand they want to tell everyone else how to live their lives, and now they see they are caught between something that doesn’t work, something they want to work, and no way to achieve their goals.

Please consider all this and why the French Soccer Team lost their chance to get out of group play at the 2010 World Cup.

Think on it.
