Review On TaylorMade TP Series Forged Irons
Last year, TaylorMade Golf released the Tour Preferred line, which is made up of three different sets of irons, the MB, MC and CB irons. Each of them are geared towards different skill levels and each have unique characteristics in terms of performance. My duty today is to help you find out which one suits you best.
TaylorMade TP CB Forged Irons
The iron set are created by plasma-welding a 8620 carbon steel cast body and a slightly firmer, forged, carbon steel face. The face also facilities TaylorMade’s Inverted Cone Technology, which varies the density of the face itself so shots that are somewhat mis-hit make scarcely the same round speed as shots strike in the honeyed spot.The undercut cavity delivers the forgiveness of a deep cavityback, whilst producing the pure feel of a forged iron.
Besides, the Inverted Cone Technology promotes faster ball speed on off-centre hits, and helps make the irons extremely forgiving for consistent distance with every club. The Tour Preferred CB Forged Irons also features a precision-weighting port that guarantees consistent swingweight throughout the set while ensuring a lower centre of gravity to optimize ball flight on every iron. Additionally, the TaylorMade Tour Preferred CB Iron features the advanced groove design to promote more spin and control from the rough. As game-improvement irons, they are designed mainly for the mid-handicap players.
TaylorMade TP MB Forged Irons
The TP MB Forged Irons feature a thin topline, thin sole, straight leading edge, minimal offset and tapered hosel work in conjunction to promote the kind of pure face-to-ball connection sought after by skilled players. This club incorporate an advanced, USGA-conforming groove design to promote more spin and control from the rough.
The standard shaft and grip properties were chosen with input from TaylorMade Tour Staff professionals, and include True Temper Dynamic Gold shaft, the most widely played on tour, and Tour Velvet grips, a combination deemed optimal for promoting consistent and responsive performance. Aiming at the low handicappers, the Tour Preferred MC Forged Irons are made from 1025 carbon steel and have a slightly smaller head and less offset than the CB irons. And like the CB irons, the weight screw has been placed in a carbon composite badge to dampen the impact sound and enhance feel.But instead of a game-improving undercut, these irons simply offer perimeter weighting to assist golfers on mis-hits.There is less offset here, which should help better players shape shots more easily, as well as a slightly-thinner sole.
